This is a great option for those wanting a marble look without the drawbacks of a marble stone. Quartz is extremely durable and relatively crack resistant. Quartz is very low maintenance and is non-porous which makes this option very resistant to bacteria. Quartz has a couple of drawbacks that need to be thought about before choosing this product as your countertop. While you can put hot items directly on the surface of granite, the same cannot be said for quartz. This material is not heat resistant. For this reason, we recommend always using a hot pad of some kind. Quartz is also only meant for indoor use. Quartz repairs on chips, although repairable, may not blend as well as natural stone.
